The Barossa region in South Australia is home to some of the greatest Shiraz vines in the world.  The Peter Lehmann winemaking team has been making iconic Shiraz wines for over three decades. Crafted by the next generation of Peter Lehmann winemakers, The Barossan showcases the superb fruit sourced from the many fabled sub-regions across the Barossa Valley. Lifted cherry and brooding dark fruit aromas combine seamlessly with sweet chocolate and mocha undertones to deliver an intense, generous and full bodied wine.

True to what the region has come to be known for ‘The Barossan’ is a quintessential expression of Barossa Shiraz. Drinking beautifully now with further cellaring potential. Parcels of high quality fruit are carefully selected from across the Barossa to produce The Barossan. Our winemakers have identified varying interpretations of this classic varietal to blend together seamlessly, delivering a complex and layered wine with fruit intensity and suppleness.

A selection of the Barossa’s key growers renowned for their quality and skill, have shared their passion and pristine fruit to create this quintessential Barossa Shiraz. Each parcel speaks of the vineyard from which it comes, sharing a special and unique aspect of the sub region.

Tasting Notes: 

• Aromas: Lifted cherry and brooding dark fruit notes, complemented by sweet chocolate and mocha undertones. 
• Palate: Full-bodied with juicy raspberry and dark plum flavors, supported by spice from barrel aging. The tannins are well-rounded, offering a firm but not overpowering structure. 
• Finish: Silky soft and long.
